About Tim Flood, Ph.D.
An associate professor of management communication at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I teach (since 2004) courses in writing, public speaking, cross-cultural communication and entrepreneurship. I've also worked closely with the career-services and leadership teams and with various other professional schools and program across campus.
I've been an active and enthusiastic supporter of start-ups and small businesses since 2007 as a pitch coach and startup accelerator at institutions like Launch Chapel Hill, Wake Forest Founders, Innovate Carolina and with recurring stints with the wonderful teams at the Launch Box, Triangle Startup Factory, the American Underground (including the amazing Black Founders' Exchange and Fidelity Center for Applied Technologies).
The luck of my Irish ancestry has gifted me with many international and intercultural experiences: travelling to (and working in) 16 countries (so far) + being a licensed partner with Richard Lewis Communications/Culture Active--all starting with work with the Egyptian Institute of Directors and the IFC/WorldBank.
I divide my time between work in the Triangle and family in the Triad. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, my master's from Texas A&M at College Station, and my doctorate from the Greensboro campus of the University of North Carolina.
